About Mitchell College

Mitchell College is a liberal arts college located in New London, which is a seaport city located at the mouth of the Thames River, and a port of entry on the northeast coast of the United States, situated in New London County, in southeastern Connecticut, having a population of more than 25 500 inhabitants, estimated during the 2000 census.

Mitchell College was established in 1938 and it is best known for its Criminal Justice, Sport Management, Early Childhood Education and Business Administration programs, offering both two and four year degree programs.

Athletics

Mitchell's sports teams are known as the Mariners, since 2008, when they changed their name from the Pequots, to comply with the mandate of the NCAA requiring a name change in order to continue postseason participation, currently competing in NCAA Division III, in 15 varsity men's and women's sports, which include golf, baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, volleyball and cross country.
